Step 3: Daily Practices to Grow Closer to Christ

  • Pray Intentionally: Make prayer a two-way conversation with God. Begin with gratitude, share your struggles, and ask for His guidance. Take time to listen for His voice and let prayer shape your day.

  • Engage with God’s Word: Spend time daily reading and meditating on Scripture. Reflect on what God is saying to you personally, allowing His truth to guide your thoughts and actions.

  • Create Sacred Space for Reflection: Set aside a quiet, distraction-free time to connect with Christ. Use this time for prayer, worship, or simply resting in His presence. Incorporate journaling to process your thoughts, record your prayers, and reflect on how God is working in your life.

  • After you reflected on the video sessions, follow the discussion questions below and then share your thoughts in the group chat.

Before the discussion, Read Psalm 23 and Watch Session 1 of  'Don’t Let the Enemy Take a Seat at Your Table'.


1.  Read Psalm 23
  • What stands out to you in Verse 5 about the imagery of God preparing a table for you in the presence of your enemies?
  • How does Verse 5 speak to God’s care and provision, even in challenging circumstances?

2.   Session 1:  'The Table Before Us'  Reflection:
  • In the session, the idea of keeping the enemy from taking a seat at your table is emphasized. What does that mean to you personally?

3. How does knowing that the valley is “through” and not the end, as stated in Psalm 23:4, influence your trust in God’s promises during difficult times?

4. How can focusing on God’s presence with you in the valley help shift your perspective from fear to trust and hope, and how does this help you keep the enemy from taking a seat at your table during difficult times?

As we wrap up the discussion, we encourage you to take some time to pray and/or journal your thoughts. Reflect on the takeaways from our conversation and ask God to speak to you more clearly about His presence at your table, especially in the valleys.

  • What truths from the discussion do you need to remind yourself of this week?
  • How can you invite God’s peace and provision into the areas of your life where the enemy may try to take a seat?
  • What are you trusting God for as you move through your current circumstances?
