Rev. Maurice B. Winn - Senior Pastor
Pastor Maurice proudly serves as the Senior Pastor of Emmanuel City Church (ECC) in Temple Hills, Maryland, where he was installed on September 18, 2021. Before coming to ECC, Pastor Maurice served in ministry at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCG) International where he was licensed and ordained by his Pastor, Mentor, and Spiritual Covering in ministry, Pastor John K. Jenkins Sr.
Pastor Maurice is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Pastor Maurice started the process towards obtaining his Masters of Divinity degree at Capital Bible Seminary; though he has not yet finished the program, Pastor Maurice remains committed to lifelong learning and continuing his education in theology and ministry.
He has also pursued advanced training in pastoral ministry and evangelism. He completed Dr. Joel Gregory's Proclaimer’s Place, an intensive study of Expository Preaching offered through Baylor University's George W. Truett Theological Seminary. In addition, Pastor Maurice completed a two-year program at Wheaton College Billy Graham Center’s African American Church Evangelism Institute, where he focused on developing strategies for community-based conversion growth and evangelism outreach to the unchurched.
Pastor Maurice married his wife, Kynita in 2001 and they have three children; Kayla, Kristina, and Malachi "MJ".
