I have always been fascinated by the moon and stars. How they shine so brightly! I enjoy looking at the moon, finding its position in the night sky, seeing what shape it is on a clear night. On a recent January night, we experienced a “wolf moon”. A ‘wolf moon’ happens in January, and its name comes from early Native American tribes noting the time of the year when wolves would allegedly howl at the moon. A friend called me to say, “have you seen how big the moon is tonight?” In amazement, I rushed to my window to see the moon. My excitement quickly faded as I frantically searched for the moon. Where was it? Why couldn’t I see it?
Oftentimes, we may search for something that we should know is there, but we just can’t see it. Our God is always right here with us, and though we can’t personally see Him, our faith assures us that He is there. We should seek Him always, for He certainly is always there for us. Hebrew 11: 6 tells us “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Well, as it turned out, the moon was right there in the sky, exactly where God placed it! There sitting low on the horizon. I just needed to change my vantage point in order to see it. Won’t you change your vantage point and put your faith in the One who loves you?
I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. Proverbs 8:17
